January 2012

As 2011 draws to an end we can only report that we had a typically quiet month outdoors. With less than twenty boats left in the harbour the wet side is understandably quiet apart from moving the three fingers of the pontoon out onto harbour moorings. This serves to protect the sections from damage in bad weather, particularly where they join to other pieces at right angles. More of our efforts are placed in more ‘behind the scenes’ endeavours this month such as reviews of our fire management and port waste management plans, upgrades to this website and our more public bi-annual harbour forum. Also during December we put up Christmas decorations around the harbour to accompany those placed on various buildings throughout the Island, all done by volunteers to the gratitude of the other islanders and visitors alike. Now into 2012 we would like to wish all our visitors, colleagues and associates a very healthy and prosperous new year.
